Certain members of the housekeeping team took it to extreme and wore pink bras over their clothing! It was all part of the fun of taking part in ‘Wear it Pink’ day, raising money for an important cause: Breast Cancer Awareness.
A generous cup-size cake, lovingly made by Alex Turpin, won ‘Best Cupcake’ in the baking competition, while Nigel Bacon’s spectacular boob cake took top honours in the ‘Best Cake’ section – the task of judging fell to head chef Rich Bennets (who better!).
Employees across the resort were involved in fund raising, both indoors and outdoors where the grounds team wore pink. Staff also donated raffle prizes. Head housekeeper Josie Allen was chief planner and head receptionist Lisa Letcher created eye-catching posters to advertise the day’s events. Deputy general manager Charlotte MacNab helped with organisation to ensure the day’s success.
Meanwhile, in the Treatment Rooms, Charlotte Cook, head therapist, offered mini manicure/pedicures for a donation of £5 – and £1 from every October treatment has been pledged. To date the amount raised is £372. A splendid day’s work!
