The largest art event that Cornwall has to offer will be in full swing at the end of May. Artists across the county, both well known and up-and-comers, will open their doors allowing the curious public to observe them in their natural and elusive habitat: the studio.
This year’s Open Studios Cornwall will involve a huge variety of artists; sculptors, painters, illustrators, potters and printmakers are only some of the talents that will be showcasing their work. Open Studios Cornwall allows visitors to see into the artist’s world – as well as touring Cornwall in a unique way – travelling to historic art sites, beach-studios, converted chapels and cottages across this seaside county. Visitors will be given the opportunity to observe art, speak to the artist behind it all, shop and, in some cases, even have a go at creating themselves!
Many of the events are free while some charge a small fee for workshops, which are family-friendly, where you can get your creative juices flowing. Glass art, stone carving and jewellery-beading are only some of the artistic workshops that will be available.
Information about Open Studios Cornwall’s upcoming events and snapshots of the participating artists’ work are all available on their website. Please be advised that some workshops have to be booked via telephone or email in advance if you wish to attend.
What’s more, Open Studios Cornwall is a dog-friendly event! Even more reason to take advantage of CLC Trenython Manor’s dog-friendly status!
