A silver finalist in last year’s – and first ever – Wildlife Friendly Business category of the Cornwall Tourism Awards, CLC Trenython Manor hotel and lodge resort is once again a winner.
But resort manager Nick Waddington and his team will have to wait until November 7th to know whether it will be bronze, silver once again…or gold!
Robin Barker on behalf of Cornwall Tourism Awards said: “To be amongst the winners, given the level of competition, is a very significant achievement indeed.”
Butterflies, bats, bees, birds, badgers… all (and others not beginning with the letter B!) are enjoyed and encouraged with wildlife habitats created in the grounds and parkland, which include acres of ancient woodland.
Guests and their children are invited to participate and discover both Cornish wildlife and the interesting historical background to CLC Trenython Manor, which lies on the edge of the recently registered Lostwithiel English Heritage Battlefield site.
The hotel also runs Nature Break packages – adopting a seal with the Cornwall Seal Group for every booking made, along with a donation to Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Tywardreath Marsh Nature Reserve.
With its slogan, ‘holidays are in our nature’, CLC Trenython Manor is gaining a solid reputation for a caring attitude toward wildlife and the environment, showing the high value Nick and his team put on these things.
