CLC Trenython Manor has received its RSPB certificate for participating in the Big Garden Birdwatch 2013.
During the hour long spotting session, some 138 birds of many varieties appeared at the CLC Trenython Manor feeders. These included 30 rooks and 22 blue tits along with chaffinch, goldfinch, magpie, robin, bullfinch, buzzard, jay, kestrel and woodpecker.
The grounds at the Manor, with ancient woodland as well as landscaped garden areas, provide an exciting wildlife habitat that visitors are encouraged to observe. The resort’s kids’ club den even features a live camera link showing inside a nest for a real bird’s eye view of any hatchings.
An RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) initiative, the Big Garden Birdwatch began in 1979 with members of the society asked to count birds to identify the UK top ten most common garden feathered visitors, and is now a regular event
