The team at CLC Trenython Manor takes pride in furthering the hotel’s green credentials and this year it has been shortlisted for the Considerate Hotel of the Year 2014 award; appearing alongside such famous brand names as Hyatt Regency London, Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons in Oxfordshire and establishments in exotic locations such as Morocco, Chile and the Maldives!
Last year the resort was nominated for a ‘Considerate’ accolade, on that occasion in the Marketing Initiative category, and after much nail-biting by CLC Trenython Manor representatives at the awards ceremony the resort walked away with highly commended in the main award and Best Green Marketing.
“It has made us try even harder and more creatively,” says resort manager Nick Waddington, who will be attending this year’s ceremony at the prestigious Langham Hotel, London. “We are a small fish among some very large ones in the hotel world nominated for the title prize, but we are thrilled to appear on such a select list of nominees.”
Considerate awards celebrate ‘the very best in environmental, sustainable and socially responsible performance’, and are awarded to hotels ‘that really make a difference’. Last year CLC Trenython Manor was recognised for having created a wildlife haven in the depths of Cornwall ‘that serves as a learning platform for the families that come and stay’.
Dubbed the Considerate ‘Oscars’, the annual awards programme followed the founding of the Considerate Hoteliers Association in London in 1991. It is open to all UK members, as well as an expanding international membership. From small to very large businesses are represented, but all share a commitment and dedication to the environments in which they operate.
