CLC Trenython Manor is proud of its many environmental accolades, and the resort has just been shortlisted for a Cornwall Sustainability Award 2012, in the Best Managed Medium Business category.
Cornwall Sustainability Awards are designed to encourage, reward and gain recognition for the excellent work that businesses in the county and the Isles of Scilly are doing to improve sustainability.
“It’s very rewarding to be nominated as the category recognises organisations that have demonstrated best practice for the benefit of the environment, employees and the wider community,” said resort manager Nick Waddington.
CLC Trenython Manor is part of the Cornwall sustainable tourism network (coast) and its many awards include a Green Tourism Gold under the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Among a number of ‘green’ initiatives, the resort has its own composter turning food waste into fertiliser and reducing waste going into landfill.
On December 7th sustainability winners will be announced at The Green Lawns Hotel, Falmouth. It’s a busy awards time for Nick, who will be brushing down his ‘ceremonies’ suit following the Cornwall Tourism Awards in November, which he attended to receive the resort’s Wildlife Friendly award.
