Experience one of the UK’s most vibrant Christmas markets in a picturesque Cornish waterfront setting, during the first weekend of December.
From Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th, the fishing village of Padstow on the River Camel will hold their yearly Christmas Market. For the eighth year running, it will combine a great selection of fresh local produce, crafts by local artisans, and festive food demonstrations by celebrity chefs, Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Brian Turner.
Alongside innovative cooking exhibitions, there will also be brewery demonstrations by Sharp’s Brewery for craft beer enthusiasts, and a Foodie Forum where visitors get to put questions to VIP culinary experts. Talented local chefs have also been invited to put on “food theatre” shows in the Festival Kitchen daily between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
Over the weekend there’s lots of family holiday fun in store, from fireworks and Christmas craft workshops to carol concerts and Santa’s lantern parade at 6pm on Friday 4th December. A charity Santa Fun Run takes place on Saturday at 1pm in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care, with runners dressing up as Father Christmas.
At the traditional Christmas market, you’ll find more than 100 stalls selling handmade jewellery, pottery and paintings, as well as pies, jams, cakes, ciders and ales. This is the ideal opportunity to buy unique presents for all your friends and family.
Visit the festival website for the full event timetable, chef biographies and a map of the market. Padstow is 28 miles from CLC Trenython Manor and a drive there will take just under 50 minutes.
