Here at CLC Trenython Manor we take our commitment to the environment seriously and are delighted that we have joined the ranks of leading brands and companies who have been awarded the “Blue Butterfly” seal of approval for having a positive impact on people and the planet.
The blue butterfly image represents the Mark of Positive Living which recognises the achievements of top players in the worlds of fashion, beauty, home and leisure and health and beauty who support sustainability and environmentally friendly measures.
The mark is awarded by POSITIVELUXURY.com, an online community which identifies ‘best in class’ brands who are keen to promote their positive attitude to sustainability.
Blue butterflies became extinct in the UK due to their popularity among collectors, but in the 1980s conservationists imported them from Sweden in what was described by famous naturalist Sir David Attenborough as the most successful insect re-introduction programme in the world.
They flourished and now tens of thousands live in the south west of England, illustrating the power of ecological research to reverse damaging environmental changes.
The grounds and the specially created butterfly garden at CLC Trenython Manor provide a welcoming environment for the blue butterfly and Resort Manager Nick Waddington said: “We take seriously our commitment to the environment and sustainability so it’s a pleasure to find ourselves the recipient of the Mark of Positive Living. I am delighted that we can add the Blue Butterfly mark of approval to our other awards recognising our work.”
