Describing competition for this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards as “fierce”, resort manager at Trenython Manor Nick Waddington has plenty to smile about.
For the resort is one of 3 finalists to receive the first, and only, Wildlife Friendly award; a new category for 2012 and one that attracted most entrants.
This means CLC Trenython Manor will receive gold, silver or bronze at the gala dinner awards ceremony in Newquay on November 8th, hosted by TV naturalist Nick Baker, to add to its impressive array of accolades and credentials.
To select winners, the judging panel looks at all elements of a business to be excellent with some outstanding. Winners will feature in the next VisitCornwall guide and go forward to the South West and potentially the VisitEngland awards.
“It’s great news for us and highlights the importance for businesses to be involved in sustainability and taking care of the privileged environment in which we are fortunate enough to operate. That way the wildlife we enjoy today can also be enjoyed by future generations and be a continuing part of the wonderful holiday appeal of Cornwall,” says Nick.
